Acting Treasurer Rachel Nolan (on extreme left, see here with Premier Anna Bligh) said Queensland had topped every state, including Western Australia, in trend business confidence, and rose solidly in seasonally adjusted terms in November.

Queensland has the highest level of business confidence in the nation, the NAB Business Survey for November today revealed.

Acting Treasurer Rachel Nolan said Queensland had topped every state including Western Australia in trend business confidence, and rose solidly in seasonally adjusted terms in November.

?Queensland also recorded the third highest trend business conditions behind WA and NSW,? Ms Nolan said.

Ms Nolan said tens of billions of dollars in the business investment pipeline was helping Queensland sprout nation-leading business confidence.

?Last week?s ABS National Accounts showed Queensland?s domestic demand had made the biggest contribution to growth in trend GDP in September quarter 2011, driven by an 11% increase in business investment in the quarter,? Ms Nolan said.

?The Bligh Government put the policies in place to facilitate investment and grow our economy.

?That private investment is making its way through the broader economy, driving up business confidence and improving conditions for local businesses ? exactly as is demonstrated here today.

?These results reflect the Bligh Government?s focus on maintaining Queensland?s pro-business and low tax environment, and reducing red tape.?
