Police have apprehended one man after a car rolled over in a quiet Mooloolaba street overnight, and are continuing their search for the remaining occupants.Police were combing the streets of Mooloolaba with dog squads in pursuit of a group of men after a car flipped in a quiet. suburban street before the occupants fled the scene.
The dramatic crash left residents with more questions than answers, after the car rolled over on a quiet suburban street.
Ambulance officers were left to clean up a number of syringes left scattered across the scene after a white, Toyota sedan was believed to have clipped a parked car, hit a tree and flipped just after 9pm, with firefighters called to Poinciana Ave scene at about 9.05pm.
Residents said the driver and two other passengers managed to free themselves from the car before fleeing the scene.Nearby resident Grace Parsons was one of many who came onto the street following the crash.
Unfortunately for her it was her and her partner’s four-wheel-drive ute that had been hit by the out-of-control Toyota.
“My partner and I were just sitting in the house and I heard a large bang,” Ms Parsons said.
“We came running out and there was a car flipped upside down on the road.”
Ms Parsons called the ambulance as other neighbours went to check on the men in the car.
“They got out and bailed straight away,” she said.
